"Nanakiroo! Kweh Kweh found an odd book under a hooman's bed. It has strange pictures and things about hoomans that Kweh Kweh fails to comprehend."

"…Let Nani see." He said rather quickly, pawing at the book.

"Kweh? The key to fertilization? So hoomans read books in order to increase the chances for hatchlings? Hoomans are strange yet amazing creatures."

Nanaki chuckled as he read on, before closing it. “Should we give it to Tifa?” He asked, the female would need time to prepare surely!

Here’s a tip for roleplaying: Researching about whatever your character is passionate about or interested in. If your character is a football (or soccer, depending where you live in) fan or plays football, then familiarize yourself with the terminologies used in the game, as well as some of the big leagues and famous players. If your character is a model, pick an inspiration or style icon or something. Is it Naomi Campbell? Or maybe Kate Moss? If your character is into fashion, pick a favorite designer. And if your character is a comic book geek? Do your research on that. Is your character a comic book fan, or a manga fan? What are their favorites? There are more comics out there other than DC and Marvel, and more manga than just Bleach, SnK and Naruto. Basically, get yourself in touch with their field of interest. Trust me, the research will come in handy. It’ll serve as a good starter if you can’t think of one, and it’ll make your character more believable.

Jake take's a deep breath before slowly walking up to his elder, his steps were soft and silent as he watched his elder look at the stars. He watched as the moon light shone upon his crimson fur, and the look of peace upon his face. Jake's heart began to race as he stepped closer and closer until he smiled and took the risk as his muzzle leaned in and gently licked his Elder's muzzle, "G-Good evening Elder..."

Nanaki was observing the stars, the moon was on the brim of being full. It shone brightly and illuminated his own red pelt. His ear twitched as he heard familiar pawprints approach, and did not break his gaze. He merely swished his tail slowly once, before curling it around himself. He nudged Jake’s muzzle back to return affection before murring softly; “It is indeed a good evening Jake.” His eyes glimmered, it was a beautiful night. The wind was still, the earth was warm between his toes and he was in good company.

"Jake, do you know the importance of this night?"

Jake stood there for a moment as he watched his elder turn the other way, his ears lowered as he listened to those words. He could feel his heart sink, the pressure building as he began to fight back the tears, “I..I know silly right…” He said gently as he began to studder his words, “Y..Your the elder of our.. people… why would you love someone like me… you should be with a female anyways…” Jake tried to laugh it off but stopped half way through. The tears began to slowly stream down his muzzle as he looked down at the flower, it was a symbol of love to his people and deep down he hated it. The feeling of anger rushed through him and swiped at it as he let out a growl.

"I…I knew love was a lie!" He yelled out as he quickly got up and began to pace away to the entrance, "I’m sorry elder… I…I can’t stay…. I’m… sorry…. goodbye…." He said quietly as he ran away as drips of his tears hit the floor as the sounds echoed through out the cave as he bolted out the entrance not knowing where he was running, but all he knew is he wanted to go somewhere far away.

Nanaki watched  as the flower was dug out of the ground and flung to the side. The silvery pollen dispersed as it thudded on the ground. He frowned slightly, before suddenly feeling terrible. Why did he have to tell him like that.

He listened to Jake as he stormed out and left him in the silent gave. Water dripped down stalagmites and into small pools of water. The temperature in the cavern seemed to drop.

”..I am his elder…and practically raised him…He.. is very fond of me..” He recited, trying to make sense of it all. “He was fond of him, and would protect him from anything, but…” He did not care of Jakes gender, it did not matter. What would Nanaki do without him? He would be lost, thats for sure. Jake has been around the longest, knew him better than any of his friends ever did and genuinely cared for him.

Love was a commitment, a bond, a partnership - and isnt that what the two have been doing these last couple of years?

Nanaki would be lost with out Jake, and with that, he trotted out of the cave and into the rainy darkness. The moon lit the rain into thin white droplets that drummed against his body, soaking him quickly. His fur hung heavily from his skin and his tail started to glow brighter - a lantern.

"JAKE!" he shouted out into the darkness, recieving only echoed rain in return. In the distance, thunder rolled. His heart rate picked up, it was dangerous to be out in the forest during a tropical storm, he needed to find Jake soon!

His own walfare was not of his concern, and his one eye scanned left and right as fast as it could - looking for anything - a dim stripe upon Jakes pelt perhaps. A sign! He called out again, this time with his own long, mournful howl. It was a howl filled with regret. He cannot say that he loved Jake in the same way as he did, but he knew one thing, he could not live without Jake - not happy anyway!

"I don't want to love you, but I do."

"…." Nanaki didn’t know how to respond to that statement. But it certainly made him quiet. How did he feel towards Jake?

"We are quite close. He is both my Pupil and…almost a son to me. But…"

"Still getting to know him, but I haven’t found a reason to dislike him yet. I like the way he smells."

"She’s really great company. Always knows what to say too."

"You're not going to lose me."

{ } —Aerith sighed softly, glancing down to Nanaki with a gentle smile. She would stroke the fur on his back, attempting to show her appreciation of his reassuring words.

“Thank you,” she said, clearing her throat quietly. "I needed to hear that."

"I sensed you were nervous. Is the idea of us going to the Temple…" He trailed off, not knowing how to finish the sentence himself. He nudged his head into her palm, enjoying her soft touch. It was nice when they were together like this.

"I am sure we will find the answers."

Jake enjoyed the attention his elder was giving him, it wasn’t new to him that he sat next to him, but every time he did it always made him happy. He slowly perked up and smiled up at his elder, “It is quite fine.. I might have lost my parents but… I had you growing up..” He leaned in slowly and gently licked his muzzle, “You have always been like a father to me elder.. always there for me when I needed you.” He said gently before turning to face the flower.

"But when I see this flower with you.. is it bad for me to want… more then that?" He could feel his heart race before letting out a soft sigh, "Tho, you probably only see me as your pupil, and I am just being silly aren’t I?" He said as his ears slowly lowered.

'A Father to him…' Jakes words sung true in his mind as he replayed it over again. He never thought of it like that, he didn't really know who he was, but he had been with Jake for a long time now. Maybe he was the son in his life. He taught him things, showed him how to do duties. “…More?” He questioned, not exactly sure where his pupil was going with this.

Nanaki turned away slightly, finally understanding the question. “Oh. Jake..” He whispered, fumbling his own words. He had never been put in a situation like this, He was certainly fond of the youth, and they were always together, thats for sure.

"I am your teacher and elder, and for that very reason, you know that i cannot reciprocate those feelings back to you. I hope..you understand." He answered, trailing off a little towards the end. He wasn’t entirely sure how he felt, but he was content with his answer to Jake. He moved his body away a little from Jake.
